Myanmar Junta Leader Min Aung Hlaing Visits Cambodia for State Visit

Myanmar's junta leader, Min Aung Hlaing, is set to make an official visit to Cambodia from September 11-12, 2026. The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on September 10, 2026. During his visit, Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to hold a summit meeting with acting Head of State Hun Sen and conduct bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Hun Manet. Leaders from both nations are expected to discuss strengthening the close relationship between the two countries, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, and exchanging views on regional and international issues of common concern. Furthermore, the Myanmar leader is slated to lay a wreath at the Independence Monument and at the monument housing the statue of the late King of Cambodia, His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk (Preah Borom Ratanakoth), paying his respects.
