SURIN, Thailand – A bus carrying students on a school field trip overturned in Surin province on Friday, injuring dozens of students and teachers. Authorities said there were no fatalities or serious injuries. The accident occurred at around 11:22 a.m. on July 17 on Highway 214 near Wat Taluak in Kang Aen subdistrict, Prasat district. Police, emergency medical teams, and rescue personnel responded after receiving reports of the crash and quickly assisted those on board. According to preliminary investigations, the bus was transporting 51 students and six teachers from Ban Angkun School in Khukhan district, Sisaket province, on an educational excursion when it overturned. Most of the injuries were described as minor, and those affected were transported to hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Initial reports suggested that around 52 people had been injured. Authorities later clarified that while many passengers required medical attention, none suffered life-threatening injuries and no fatalities were reported. Traffic on Highway 214 has since returned to normal, while police continue investigating the cause of the crash.
