Singer Duyen Quynh Praises Vietnam's Beauty in Patriotic MV
Singer Duyen Quynh has released a music video titled "Việt Nam gấm vóc rạng ngời" (Glorious Vietnam) ahead of Vietnam's National Day, showcasing the country's diverse landscapes and culture. The project, her largest investment to date, captures the beauty of various regions from the northern mountains to the southern Mekong Delta.
Singer Duyen Quynh has released a music video (MV) for her patriotic song "Việt Nam gấm vóc rạng ngời" (Glorious Vietnam), timed with Vietnam's National Day on September 2. The MV aims to showcase the diverse landscapes, people's lives, and cultural characteristics of various regions across the country, including the northwestern mountains, the Central Highlands (Tay Nguyen), and the southern Mekong Delta. Duyen Quynh stated that she invested the most time and financial resources of her career into this project. Instead of shooting in a studio, she and her crew traveled from north to south to capture the scenery, lifestyles, and unique cultural traits of different localities. The MV features dozens of famous landmarks such as Hanoi's Long Bien Bridge, Ha Long Bay, the Tay Nguyen mountains, Hue's Trang Tien Bridge, and floating markets in the Mekong Delta. For each location, Duyen Quynh adapted her appearance, portraying herself as a highland girl, a woman in a purple ao dai from Hue, a woman in an ao ba ba amidst the rivers and water of the south, or wearing Khmer traditional attire. The idea for the MV stemmed from her travels during her music career. "Vietnam has so many beautiful landscapes, and the people are friendly and hospitable. I think even with a lifetime, it would be difficult to fully explore all the cultural materials," Duyen Quynh said. "Việt Nam gấm vóc rạng ngời" was composed by Duyen Quynh herself in late 2025. Encouraged by positive audience feedback, she decided to develop the song into an MV and chose National Day to launch it. The song blends heroic melodies with lyrical passages, celebrating the country's scenery, people, and spirit of unity. Duyen Quynh mentioned that during the recording process, she focused on conveying emotion rather than showcasing technical vocal prowess, aiming to create a sense of closeness with the listeners. "Through this product, I want to convey the message that each of us can contribute to introducing Vietnam's image to international friends," she said. In recent years, Duyen Quynh has prioritized songs with themes of homeland and country. She stated that she doesn't feel pressured to surpass the achievements of her previous works, viewing each project as a step forward in her path of using music to tell stories about Vietnam's culture and people. Duyen Quynh, 36, is from Dak Lak province and graduated from the Vocal Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music in 2015. After graduation, she worked for the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra (HBSO). In early 2019, she competed on the show "Ban nhạc quyền năng" and won second place. In the same year, Duyen Quynh won the championship of "Người kể chuyện tình" season three. After the competition, in addition to singing, she also lent her voice to films and composed music. In 2025, she gained widespread recognition for the song "Viết tiếp câu chuyện hòa bình" (Continuing the Story of Peace), composed by Nguyen Van Chung. The song became a social media sensation and was featured in numerous artistic programs, garnering billions of views across platforms. Earlier this year, Duyen Quynh apologized for not providing a "professional experience" to the audience due to lip-syncing at the Làn Sóng Xanh Awards 2025 ceremony. Source: VnExpress
