Cambodia to Deploy Approximately 5,000 Observers for High School Graduation Exams

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia announced on August 6, 2026, that approximately 5,000 observers will be deployed to ensure the integrity of the high school graduation examinations (Baccalaureate) scheduled for August 10, 2026. During a press conference on the preparations for the exams, His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, stated that anti-corruption bodies, the Cambodian Youth Federation, provincial authorities, and volunteers would participate in monitoring the examinations across all 25 provinces and the capital. This extensive observation network is intended to guarantee the success of the examination process. Minister Naron noted a significant positive shift in students' academic efforts over the past 12 years, indicating a strong commitment to learning. The examinations will consist of written tests from August 10-11, 2026. Grading will take place from August 13-19, followed by computer-based scoring and verification from August 20-30. The printing of examination results is scheduled for September 1, with the official announcement for all 25 provinces and the capital to be made on September 2, 2026. A total of 151,238 candidates, including 84,735 females, have registered for the August 10, 2026, examinations. Among them, 37,445 candidates (22,193 females) are pursuing science streams, while 113,793 candidates (62,542 females) are in social science streams.
