In addition, the Myanmar-India Joint Declaration on the completion of the Kaladan River Multi-purpose Transport Project, the implementation of the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway Project, the increasing number of Mekong-Gangetic Cooperation Scholarship Scheme (MGCSS) scholarships offered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for Myanmar students from 36 to 100 starting in 2026. To further facilitate and enhance bilateral trade, Rupee-Kyat payment system was launched starting in May 2024. During the visit, the President attended meetings on economic and banking cooperation, Myanmar-India trade and investment, and bilateral economic talks. He also visited an energy company and India's Jawaharlal Nehru Port. The President’s visit reached the agreements on economic, trade, and investment cooperation, expedite the implementation of the Kaladan Multi-modal Transport Project and the Tri-Lateral Highway Project, and border security and Non-intervention. Similarly, at the invitation of President of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, the President paid a state visit to China from June 15th to 19th. During the visit, he met with President Mr. Xi Jinping, Chinese Premier Mr. Li Qiang, and Chairman of the National People's Congress of PRC, Mr. Zhao Lijie, and discussed on promoting bilateral cooperation to establish enduring peace in Myanmar, increasing Chinese investment in Myanmar, and promoting Myanmar-China bilateral trade. They also discussed the Myanmar-China strategic partnership, security and rule of law, economic and investment promotion, achieving peace and stability in the border areas, accelerating the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) projects, and reaffirmed Myanmar's support for the "One China" policy, while China express its support for the Myanmar’s new administration. Likewise, memorandum of understanding MoU covering the areas of human resourse development, agriculture, trade, media, humanitarian assistance, space and AI technology, technology and knowledge exchange, implementation of GSI, GDI, GCI, GGI were signed. The President’s study tour included visits to industrial and technological industries such as China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, railway construction, Shanghai Lingang Special Area, electric vehicles, bamboo raw material textile and accessories manufacturing industries, and Unitree Robotics. There, the President also attended the Myanmar-China Investment and Trade Networking Summit (MCITP) and signed over 70 MoUs on economic cooperation between the two countries. During the visit, a joint statement was issued on accelerating Myanmar-China strategic partnership with the shared interests, and agreements were reached in the fields of diplomatic relations, digital economy, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, railway construction and mineral as well as economic cooperation, border stability and security. The spokesperson also made clarifications on current working processes and future plans of the related Ministries under government’s 100-day plan. And, the spokeperson answered the questions raised by the local and foreign medias.
