2026 University Entrance Exam: Mon State Achieves 4th National Rank with 56.19% Pass Rate

In the 2026 University Entrance Examination, 10,542 students took the exam in Mon State, with 5,924 passing, achieving a pass rate of 56.19%, ranking 4th nationwide, according to sources close to the Mon State Education Office. According to the list of successful candidates for the 2026 University Entrance Examination released early yesterday morning, June 28, in Kyikhto Township, Mon State, 965 students took the exam and 569 passed; in Bilin Township, 701 students took the exam and 460 passed; in Thaton Township, 859 students took the exam and 438 passed; and in Paung Township, 774 students took the exam and 304 passed, according to the lists released by the State Education Office. Similarly, in Mawlamyine Township, 2,974 students took the exam and 1,740 passed; in Chaungzon Township, 677 students took the exam and 377 passed; and in Kyaikmaraw Township, 322 students took the exam and 158 passed. Furthermore, in Mudon Township, 1,501 students took the exam and 908 passed; in Thanbyuzayat Township, 1,142 students took the exam and 616 passed; and in Ye Township, 627 students took the exam and 269 passed, with a total of 5,924 out of 10,542 candidates passing, achieving a pass rate of 56.19%, ranking 4th nationwide. In addition, Mon State produced 14 students with distinctions in 6 subjects (8 from Mawlamyine Township and 6 from Mudon Township), 69 students with distinctions in 5 subjects, 161 students with distinctions in 4 subjects, 175 students with distinctions in 3 subjects, 280 students with distinctions in 2 subjects, and 711 students with distinctions in 1 subject, according to the State Education Office. In the previous 2025 University Entrance Examination, 8,972 students took the exam in Mon State, with 5,128 passing, achieving a pass rate of 57.16%, which was the highest pass rate nationwide.
