Prabowo Vows to Eradicate Illegal Mining and Smuggling

President Prabowo has expressed a strong determination to eradicate illegal activities rampant across Indonesia. His administration plans to root out illegal mining, smuggling, and illicit export-import operations, ensuring that the nation's natural resources maximally benefit the public welfare. The president revealed this policy during a speech at the National Armed Forces' harvest festival supporting food security programs, held at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang Regency, East Java. "We are carrying out large-scale crackdowns on all illegal activities, including smuggling, illegal mining, illegal plantations, illegal fishing, and illegal commercial dealings," Prabowo emphasized. Indonesia's top leader acknowledged that this "clean-up" operation is a challenging task, but asserted that with strong resolve, it can certainly be achieved. "Our task is immense. But God willing, with determination, sincerity, and will, we will achieve what we desire," the president stated. President Prabowo also conveyed his gratitude to the personnel who contributed to achieving targets he set, such as self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water. "Our goal of food self-sufficiency has been achieved. We are now moving towards energy self-sufficiency, and we are also pioneering water self-sufficiency. This will ensure that all our citizens have access to clean water and water for irrigation," the president said.
