Philippines Expands 'Trabaho at Negosyo' Events Amid ASEAN Chairmanship

Despite inclement weather, entrepreneurs and job seekers flocked to SM City La Union yesterday to participate in Go Negosyo’s Trabaho at Negosyo (Jobs and Business) event. Hundreds of active and aspiring entrepreneurs, alongside job applicants, availed of free job matching and entrepreneurship mentoring services provided by Go Negosyo and its public and private sector partners. Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion announced that more Trabaho at Negosyo events will be rolled out as the Philippines chairs ASEAN this year. "This will help bring the vision of inclusive prosperity in ASEAN to more Filipinos nationwide," he stated. Trabaho at Negosyo is a nationwide free entrepreneurship mentoring and job fair event held in urban areas across the Philippines. The next stop for Trabaho at Negosyo is scheduled for October 24 in Iligan City, Northern Mindanao. This initiative is expected to contribute to the Philippine government's goals of economic growth, job creation, and the development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). MSMEs are a vital pillar of the Philippine economy, supporting a large portion of the nation's workforce. However, they often face challenges in areas such as access to finance, market access, and technological innovation. Private-sector-led initiatives like Go Negosyo aim to address these challenges by providing support for entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the Philippine economy. The move also aligns with the country's role as ASEAN chair, seeking to foster regional economic integration and inclusive growth.
