House fires break out in Mudon and Mawlamyine townships

It has been reported that house fires have broken out in Mudon and Mawlamyine townships. It is reported that a fire broke out in a house located on Shwe Nyaung Pin Street 2, Kauk Kwal Tan Ward, Ward 2, Mudon Township, at approximately 3:45 PM on September 7, yesterday. A resident of the ward stated that the fire started because there was no one watching while wet firewood was being dried with a stove inside the house. He further stated, "One house was completely destroyed by the fire. I heard that the house was a rental property." It is reported that the fire was extinguished by regular and reserve firefighters, social rescue teams, and local residents who surrounded the fire with 3 fire engines and 1 water tanker from the Mudon Township Fire Station and the Bayar Lan Village Auxiliary Fire Station, and the fire was put out at approximately 4:10 PM. Similarly, at approximately 9:00 PM on September 7, yesterday, a fire broke out in a two-story tin-roofed house with a frontage of 20 feet and a depth of 7 feet on the Mawlamyine Bypass Road, Taung Shan Su Ward, Hlaing Ward, Mawlamyine Township, when an overheating water boiler, which had been left on for 3 minutes, caused a fire that spread to nearby clothing, cardboard, and two small gas cylinders. It is reported that the fire was extinguished by firefighters, reserve firefighters, police officers, social rescue teams, and local residents who surrounded the fire with 3 fire engines and 4 water tankers from the Mawlamyine Township Fire Stations, and the fire was put out at 9:25 PM.
