Jakarta City Revenue Agency Building Catches Fire, Firefighting Efforts Underway

A fire broke out at the building of the Badan Pendapatan Daerah (Bapenda) or Regional Revenue Agency of DKI Jakarta Province, located on Jalan Abdul Muis No. 66, Petojo Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Friday night (7/8/2026). According to the Command Center of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), the fire report was received at 9:30 PM WIB via the Jakarta Siaga 112 service. Initial responding units arrived at 9:40 PM. Currently, 13 fire engines and 65 personnel have been deployed to extinguish the fire, and the situation is classified as "red" (undergoing firefighting operations). As of this report, firefighting efforts are ongoing, and no information regarding the cause of the fire or any casualties has been released. Lusiana Herawati, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency, confirmed the fire incident and stated that she is heading to the office to monitor the firefighting response directly. The building serves as a crucial hub for tax collection in Jakarta, and the impact of the fire on its operations is a growing concern.
