Vietnamese Vice President Meets Kyrgyz President to Deepen Bilateral Ties

Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan held a meeting with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on August 31, on the occasion of her attendance at the expanded summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The two leaders discussed measures to strengthen bilateral relations. President Sadyr Japarov warmly welcomed Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the high-level Vietnamese delegation to the SCO Plus conference in Bishkek. He highly appreciated the significance of the visit and the positive developments in the friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan in recent times, especially in the fields of politics-diplomacy, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. The President affirmed that Kyrgyzstan attaches importance to its relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam as one of its leading partners in Southeast Asia, and wishes to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two countries. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan conveyed greetings and best wishes from General Secretary and President To Lam to President Sadyr Japarov. She also extended an invitation from General Secretary and President To Lam for President Sadyr Japarov to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation into areas with significant potential, including science-technology, transportation, logistics, culture, tourism, sports, and people-to-people exchanges. This aims to enhance mutual understanding, consolidate the sustainable social foundation for bilateral relations, strengthen cooperation in addressing traditional and non-traditional security challenges, and leverage the bridging role of Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan in promoting connectivity between Southeast Asia and Central Asia. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan proposed that President Sadyr Japarov and relevant Kyrgyz authorities continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, working, and doing business in Kyrgyzstan to live stably, integrate well, and contribute positively to the development of Kyrgyzstan as well as the friendly relations between the two countries. The meeting between Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and President Sadyr Japarov took place in a cordial and open atmosphere, contributing to maintaining high-level exchanges, consolidating political trust, expanding new areas of cooperation, and creating further momentum for the practical and effective development of Vietnam-Kyrgyzstan relations. It also promotes connectivity between Southeast Asia and Central Asia, contributing to peace, cooperation, and development.
