Over 310 Million Kyats Worth of Ganja and Ganja Liquid Seized in Hlaing Thar Yar and Dagon Seik Kan

Ganja and ganja liquid worth over 310.36 million kyats have been seized in Hlaing Thar Yar (East) Township and Dagon Seik Kan Township in Yangon City, according to the Counter Narcotics Drugs Department (CCDAC Myanmar) on September 15. A joint team for drug suppression stopped and inspected a SUZUKI EVERY vehicle on Nyaungdon Road, Ward 8, Hlaing Thar Yar (East) Township, at approximately 2:30 PM on September 8. During the inspection, the driver, Kyaw Moe Han, 34, and his passenger, Kyaw Zin Htun, 37, were found. Four kilograms of ganja worth 800,000 kyats and three mobile phones were seized from the vehicle. Following further investigations, at approximately 4:00 PM on the same day, a search of their residence in Ward 94, Dagon Seik Kan Township, led to the discovery and seizure of an additional 151 kilograms of ganja worth 30.2 million kyats and 4 liters of ganja liquid worth 360,000 kyats. In connection with this incident, Kyaw Moe Han and Kyaw Zin Htun have been charged under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at the relevant police stations, and investigations to identify further accomplices are ongoing.
