Kampong Speu Governor Donates Humanitarian House, Aid, Urges Citizens to Prioritize Health, Agriculture, and Local Jobs

Kampong Speu, Cambodia – July 31, 2026 – Dr. Cheam Chansophann, President of the Cambodian Red Cross Kampong Speu Provincial Branch, along with committee members and heads of provincial departments and units, presided over the handover ceremony for one humanitarian house, a generous donation from Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross. Humanitarian aid was also distributed to 30 vulnerable families in Angkor Ban village, Yuth Samaki commune, Samaki Mean Chey district. During the occasion, Dr. Cheam Chansophann conveyed the regards of Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, who consistently pays close attention to the well-being and living conditions of citizens everywhere, ensuring no one dies from hunger without the knowledge of authorities or the Red Cross. Concurrently, the provincial governor advised residents to prioritize their health. He noted that in line with the high recommendations of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the provincial administration is strengthening the capacity of health centers and increasing specialized personnel to facilitate easier access and enhance the effectiveness of services for citizens seeking medical consultations. Furthermore, Dr. Cheam Chansophann urged residents to maintain close contact with local authorities, especially the Provincial Department of Agriculture, to obtain quality seeds for farming, thereby ensuring high yields. Regarding livelihoods, he highlighted that Samaki Mean Mean Chey district currently has numerous factories and enterprises operating, creating abundant employment opportunities for residents and youth to increase family income. In conclusion, Dr. Cheam Chansophann appealed to all residents to collectively promote security and safety within the community. He also encouraged participation in waste management and maintaining cleanliness around their homes to prevent various illnesses and enhance the aesthetic appeal of villages and communes.
