Cambodia Disciplines 6 Border Police Officers for Violations at International Checkpoint

The Ministry of Interior of Cambodia has imposed disciplinary sanctions on six border police officers stationed at the Trapeang Kreil International Checkpoint in Stung Treng province for violating national police regulations. The disciplinary measures, outlined in a ministry decree dated July 28 and signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, are divided into two categories. Under decree No. 8714, dated July 28, three police officers were subjected to disciplinary action by being "reassigned to serve as administrative officials in the General Affairs Office of the First Border Gate Directorate." These individuals include Colonel Ouch Mean (ID 32885), the checkpoint chief; Colonel Tit Borin (ID 60311), the deputy chief; and Lieutenant Colonel Meas Vattana (ID 89247), an officer. Furthermore, under decree No. 8715 of the same date, three other police officers received disciplinary sanctions, including "reassignment to serve as administrative officials in the General Affairs Office of the First Border Gate Directorate" and "demotion by one rank." Specifically, Lieutenant Nu Litsiphanar (ID 12063), a deputy chief, was demoted from the rank of Captain to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Colonel Met Simak (ID 83658), chief of mobile inspection, and Lieutenant Colonel Chun Senghuor (ID 88862), chief of procedures, were both demoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Major. These actions underscore the importance of maintaining discipline and preventing misconduct at border control points.
