PATTAYA: A Sri Lankan tourist has filed a complaint with Pattaya police after allegedly being pressured into purchasing exorbitantly priced coconut oil, marketed as a 'miracle herb' for hair growth, for 3,300 baht. Police confirmed that the herbal shop involved was recently linked to a similar case concerning an Indian visitor. The tourist reported that he was approached at a herbal shop and strongly persuaded to buy the coconut oil, which was claimed to reverse balding. After purchasing the product at the inflated price, the tourist realized he had been scammed and subsequently reported the incident to the authorities. Authorities have inspected the premises following the report. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about tourist scams in Pattaya, a popular destination. Police are urging visitors to exercise caution against suspicious sales tactics and overpriced goods.
