Nearly 50 Vietnamese Nationals Repatriated Following Deportation from US

Nearly 50 Vietnamese nationals, deported from the United States, have been repatriated to Vietnam. These returnees are registered residents in various localities across Vietnam, including the northern, central, Central Highlands, and southwestern regions. Reports indicate that they are suspected of attempting to illegally obtain investor visas and overstay their welcome in Vietnam. Specifically, two companies based in Ho Chi Minh City are alleged to have facilitated applications for temporary residence cards for individuals who were not genuine investors. This was reportedly done through intermediaries with the intention of remaining in Vietnam. The Vietnamese government has implemented new regulations allowing for immediate deportation for individuals unable to pay administrative fines, aimed at preventing prolonged illegal stays. This is part of a broader effort to maintain national security and social order. This incident highlights Vietnam's increasingly stringent immigration control and national security policies under its one-party system. While Vietnam continues to welcome foreign investment and talent to fuel its economic growth, it prioritizes domestic stability.
