Iptu Herman Sentosa, head of the Medan Sunggal Police Criminal Investigation Unit, stated that the police received information about the victim falling early Friday morning (10/7). "The victim was an official from BPN Nias Regency. He was found to have fallen from the 12th floor of the Sky View Apartment. The incident is estimated to have occurred between 04:00 and 05:00 AM," Iptu Herman told CNNIndonesia.com on Saturday (11/7). According to Iptu Herman, the police have not yet been able to conclude the suspected cause of the victim's death. He mentioned that the police are still investigating the exact cause. "Whether it was suicide or homicide, that is still under our investigation. We cannot confirm the cause yet," he said. It is understood that the victim had only been in Medan for a few days for official business. During his stay at the apartment, the victim was believed to be staying alone. "He did not stay there long. Because he had official business in Medan. He arrived one or two days prior and stayed alone in the apartment," explained Iptu Herman. Regarding allegations of the victim experiencing assault before being found dead, the police also could not provide certainty. "Regarding the alleged assault, we cannot confirm whether there was one or not. Everything is still in the investigation process," he said. The victim's body was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital Medan for an autopsy. The results of the forensic examination will be one of the bases for investigators to uncover the cause of the victim's death. "We will update again once this is revealed. The body was taken to RS Bhayangkara for an autopsy," he explained. Iptu Herman added that the handling of the case has now been transferred to the Medan Police (Polrestabes Medan). Several witnesses have been questioned to assist in the investigation process. "The case is being handled by Polrestabes Medan. The witnesses questioned have been handed over to Polrestabes for further action," Herman said.
