40% of Filipinos Unaware of House Speaker Bojie Dy, Survey Reveals
A recent survey indicates that 40.4% of Filipino adults are unfamiliar with House Speaker Bojie Dy, a figure higher than those who gave him a positive performance rating, according to Momentum Research.
MANILA, Philippines — Four in 10 Filipinos do not know who House Speaker Bojie Dy is, according to a recent survey by Momentum Research. The July 2026 survey found that 40.4% of Filipino adults were unfamiliar with Dy. This was higher than the 32% who gave him a positive performance rating. Momentum Research said the non-commissioned survey was conducted from July 13 to 16 through face-to-face interviews with 1,438 Filipino adults. It had a ±2.6% national margin of error and a 95% confidence level. Dy was least known in Mindanao, where 43.8% of respondents said they did not know him. This was followed by the rest of Luzon at 42.6%, the Visayas at 38.1% and Metro Manila at 30.1%. By political group, Dy was unfamiliar to 47.4% of pro-opposition respondents, 42.1% of pro-Duterte respondents, 37.9% of independents and 36.9% of pro-Marcos respondents. His "good" rating was highest in the rest of Luzon at 36.2%, followed by the Visayas at 31.1%, Metro Manila at 30.9% and Mindanao at 24.9%. Dy received his strongest ratings from pro-Marcos respondents, with 40.1% rating his performance as "good" and 1.9% rating it as "very good." "As a legislator with close ties to the Marcos administration, it also does not come as a surprise that Dy received the most favorable ratings from pro-Marcos respondents," the survey said. The survey also found that 18.6% of respondents rated Dy's performance as "poor," while 2.3% rated it as "very poor." His "poor" rating was highest in Metro Manila at 28.9%, followed by Mindanao at 20.7%, the Visayas at 18% and the rest of Luzon at 14.7%. By political group, 25.4% of pro-Duterte respondents gave Dy a negative rating, followed by 18.4% of pro-opposition respondents, 17.2% of independents and 9.1% of pro-Marcos respondents. Another 4.4% of respondents said they were uncertain, while 2.3% refused to answer.
