Tourism and Culture Short Video Contest Extended

It has been learned from the organizing subcommittee that the deadline for participation in the Tourism and Culture Short Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism, has been extended for those who wish to compete. Previously, the deadline for submitting applications for the contest was announced as August 21, 3:00 PM. However, in order to allow more interested enthusiasts to participate, the period for accepting applications has been extended until September 8, 3:00 PM. It was also learned that the prize money has been changed to 1.6 million kyats for first prize, 1.3 million kyats for second prize, 1.1 million kyats for third prize, and 300,000 kyats each for five consolation prizes. The contest is being held in commemoration of World Tourism Day, with the aim of making Myanmar's tourist destinations, cultural heritage, ethnic traditions and customs, and traditional cultural festivals better known to tourists worldwide, thereby increasing the number of foreign tourists visiting Myanmar and contributing to the sustainable and long-term development of the tourism industry. It is understood that the winners of the contest will be awarded at the World Tourism Day ceremony to be held on September 27, 2026.
