Marcos Inaugurates Pampanga Children's Hospital, Pledges More Specialty Facilities
Philippine President Marcos inaugurated a state-of-the-art children's medical center in Pampanga, vowing to improve access to specialized care nationwide. Tycoon Enrique Razon and others contributed to its construction.
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos inaugurated yesterday the Jose B. Lingad Children’s Medical Center in Mabalacat, Pampanga, and committed to build more specialty hospitals across the country. The facility – the first to open under the Clark Multi-Specialty Medical Center project – is equipped with modern medical technologies including artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostic equipment. It will serve pediatric patients from Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon as well as nearby provinces. Marcos said children who have serious medical conditions no longer need to travel to Metro Manila to avail themselves of specialized care. He acknowledged business tycoon Enrique Razon for helping build the health facility. Razon’s Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. contributed P1 billion in seed funding for the hospital’s construction, and another P50 million for the procurement of a generator set. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. allocated P360 million for the project. The Clark Development Corp. donated 4.85 hectares of land where the multi-specialty medical complex now stands. The future Clark Multi-Specialty Medical Center will also include the Philippine Heart Center and the Philippine Cancer Center.
