Cambodia Rallies Support for Frontline Troops in National Defense Effort

Kampong Thom, September 7, 2026 -- Say Kimlom, Governor of Stung Trang District, stated that the provision of supplies, food, materials, and financial support to frontline soldiers is a manifestation of the spirit of unity between the "frontline" and the "rear," working together to protect national territorial integrity and sovereignty. The governor made these remarks during a ceremony on the morning of September 7, 2026, where he presented donations from Excellency Thao Chetha, Minister and Head of the Stung Trang District Working Group. These donations, delivered via Excellency Chea Sunheng, Head of the Kompong Chen Cheung Commune Working Group, included 50 bundles of canned fish, 50 packs of MSG, 50 bundles of fish sauce and soy sauce, 200 scarves, and 2 million Riel in cash, intended for the frontline soldiers in the Prasat Preah Vihear sector. Governor Kimlom emphasized that even if citizens in the "rear" cannot directly participate in duties in the border areas, they can still support the frontline troops by providing supplies, food, materials, and cash to the best of their ability. Such contributions are invaluable moral support for the soldiers stationed to defend the nation. Concurrently, the Kompong Chen Cheung Commune administration and several philanthropists also contributed 1,500 bundles of bottled water and 3 canisters of diesel fuel to support and supply the forces engaged in defending territorial integrity. The governor of Stung Trang District considered these contributions as a demonstration of solidarity and unity among authorities, citizens, and philanthropists, who are willing to participate in supporting the frontline troops. While soldiers stand guard to protect territorial integrity, the "rear" is supported by the administration, citizens, and philanthropists within their means. This connection between the "front" and the "rear" creates a significant collective force that boosts the morale of those performing duties in the border areas. Governor Kimlom appealed for continued support for the heroic soldiers according to each individual's capacity, stating that every contribution, big or small, signifies gratitude and care for those fulfilling their national defense duties.
