Vietnamese National Assembly Delegation Pays Homage to Heroes and Martyrs in Quang Tri
A delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly visited Quang Tri province to pay homage to fallen heroes and martyrs. The province is actively undertaking projects to support revolutionary contributors, families of martyrs, and victims of Agent Orange.
On July 18, a delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly, led by Politburo members and National Assembly Vice Chairpersons Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, visited Quang Tri province to lay incense and flowers in commemoration of the nation's heroes and martyrs. Quang Tri province is undertaking the construction and repair of 3,520 houses for revolutionary contributors, families of martyrs, and victims of Agent Orange. Leaders from the Quang Tri Provincial National Assembly Delegation also visited and presented gifts to war invalids and families of martyrs. A delegation from Hanoi City also paid homage to the heroes and martyrs in Quang Tri. This visit, taking place in Quang Tri province, a site of intense battles during the Vietnam War, serves to honor the contributions of those who sacrificed for national construction and the people, and to remember their virtues. It is part of activities aimed at promoting national unity and shared historical understanding under the Vietnamese Communist Party. Within Vietnam's one-party system, such national commemorative events play a crucial role in fostering patriotism and strengthening national solidarity. Amidst Vietnam's ongoing economic growth, the memories of past wars are passed down to the people as the foundation of current development and as lessons for the future. In regions like Quang Tri, the scars of war remain, making reconstruction and the rebuilding of people's lives significant challenges. The visit by the National Assembly delegation also signifies the central government's attention and support for such areas.
