Cambodian Red Cross Holds Annual Meeting on Family Links Restoration

The Cambodian Red Cross organized its annual meeting on September 17, 2026, at the Pous's Kom Hotel in Kampot Province to review the results of its Restoring Family Links (RFL) program for 2026 and to set the direction for its 2027 plan. Led by Madam Pum Chantynee, Secretary General of the Cambodian Red Cross, the meeting was attended by 33 participants, including leaders and officials from the Cambodian Red Cross, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and RFL officers from 25 provinces and cities. The meeting aimed to summarize the results and activities of the RFL program, examine challenges, and exchange experiences to enhance operational efficiency. It also focused on strengthening cooperation with relevant institutions, particularly in finding and restoring contact between family members who have lost touch. ICRC representatives highlighted the importance of RFL work in responding to the needs of people who have lost contact with their families due to armed conflict, natural disasters, and other situations. Madam Secretary General expressed gratitude to the ICRC for its technical and financial support for the RFL program, emphasizing that this work is not merely a technical service but a valuable humanitarian effort that addresses the psychological needs and dignity of those separated from their families. She advised RFL officers from all 25 provinces and cities to continue strengthening their capacities, prepare for timely responses, and maintain the quality of services, confidentiality, neutrality, and dignity of service recipients.
