Fatal Head-On Pickup Truck Collision in Northern Thailand Claims One Life, Injures Four

PHITSANULOK – A tragic head-on collision between two pickup trucks occurred early Monday morning on a major highway in northern Thailand, leaving one man dead and four others injured. Local emergency crews rushed to the scene to assist the trapped victims. The devastating crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. on the busy Phitsanulok-Uttaradit Highway. First responders arrived to find two heavily damaged white Toyota pickup trucks blocking the road. The violent impact tragically resulted in one fatality at the scene. Police officers from the local station quickly secured the area. They identified the vehicles involved as a white Toyota Revo with Bangkok license plates and a white Toyota Vigo. The extensive damage to both trucks necessitated careful work by rescue teams. Authorities officially identified the deceased victim as Sanong Maneechai, a 71-year-old long-time resident of the Pichai District in neighboring Uttaradit province. Rescue workers carefully removed his body from the wreckage to commence the formal legal process. Four other men sustained varying injuries in the powerful collision. Emergency medical teams stabilized them on the road before transporting them by ambulance to Wat Bot Hospital and Phrom Phiram Hospital for treatment. The injured passengers, aged from their late thirties to early sixties, included Songwut Pattha, 36, and Suphachai Panthong, 62. Two other men, aged 60 and 58, also required immediate emergency room care. Local law enforcement is leading the investigation into this tragic case.
