The incident occurred around 1:20 PM on July 1, when revolutionary forces attacked a convoy of police vehicles on the Pyay-Magway road near Phyat Taung Phwe village, approximately 6 miles north of the Aung Lan Myoma Police Station. Revolutionary forces began firing at the police convoy with small arms, leading to an exchange of fire between both sides. It is reported that Police Sergeant Kyaw Lwin sustained a gunshot wound to the head during this attack and died at the scene. Furthermore, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Aung Lan District Win Hlaing sustained gunshot wounds, and Police Officer Aung Than Zaw also sustained a gunshot wound to his right buttock, and both were sent to Aung Lan Township People's Hospital for treatment.
