Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture systematically develops hotel businesses in Shan State

For convenience of the visitors, the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture is implementing systematic development of hotel businesses in Shan State. On August 6th, Union Minister U Maung Myint and officials inspected state owned Kalaw Heritage Hotel in Kalaw Township. Hotel official reported on sector wise working process of the hotel including indoor and outdoor decorations, plans for travel season, better service provision to the guests and hotel maintenance works. On the reports, the Union Minister instructed for providing standardized hotel services with skillful staff, following rules and procedures, display of local handcrafted items as well as serving traditional foods. The Union Minister called for collaborative efforts of all for systematic hotel operation following international norms and development of hotels and tourism industry within the state. Then, the Union Minister observed the ancient buildings with over 100 years, bearing blue plaques and instructed for long term durability of the buildings. The Union Minister also instructed to prepare the necessary landscaping works to make the 200-year-old pine tree and the banyan tree as a tourist attraction area within the hotel compound.
