Efforts underway to increase electricity distribution during summer

It is necessary to strive for the timely completion of projects being undertaken to increase electricity distribution by the upcoming summer, said U Ko Ko Lwin, Union Minister of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy. The Union Minister gave these instructions to responsible officials during his visit and inspection of the 230kV Pyinmana main substation and Shwe Myo main substation in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory on September 16. Furthermore, he stated that efforts are being made to eliminate system breakdowns, which occur because the electricity system cannot handle the load, but this will take some time. While these efforts are underway, plans are being made to implement a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to ensure that electricity is not completely interrupted in important national locations and to enable the electricity system to be restarted as quickly as possible. The Union Minister also stated that it is necessary to accurately calculate the minimum required load for each area that needs to be supplied with electricity. It is understood that the Ministry of Electricity and Energy is striving to achieve balanced progress in all three sectors—electricity generation, transmission, and distribution—to establish a reliable electricity system for the public.
