Laos convened its First National Media Conference, prioritizing the acceleration of digital transformation and strengthening of Party leadership within the media sector. The Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee convened the First National Media Conference in Vientiane, charting a course to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen Party leadership within the media sector to contribute to national development. Recent institutional reforms have streamlined media management and strengthened professional training in digital journalism, multimedia production, information technology, and news analysis. Looking ahead, Laos will prioritize building a modern, professional media sector by reinforcing Party leadership, enhancing journalists' political awareness and professional ethics, expanding the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, upgrading media infrastructure, and fostering international cooperation. These reforms aim to improve the quality, credibility, and competitiveness of Lao media, enabling it to better serve national development and the public in an increasingly digital information environment.
