AA, PDF members totaling 20 and 12 respectively surrender with weapons

It is reported that 20 members of the AA and 12 members of the PDF have returned to the legal fold along with their weapons and ammunition. The individuals who returned to the legal fold included 4 from Gwa Township, 1 from Minbya Township, 6 from Thandwe Township, 1 from Ramree Township, 2 from Myebon Township, 1 from Taungup Township in Rakhine State, 3 from Paletwa Township in Chin State, 1 from Khayinn Township and 1 from Laymyethna Township in Ayeyarwady Region, totaling 20 male AA members. Additionally, 2 from Yeji Township, 2 from Pathein Township, 2 from Danubyu Township, 3 from Laymyethna Township, 1 from Ingapu Township in Ayeyarwady Region, 1 from Insein Township and 1 from Dagon Seikkan Township in Yangon Region, totaling 11 male and 1 female PDF members. A ceremony to welcome them and hand them over to their parents or guardians was held on July 29th at the Ayeyarwady Hall of the Southwest Military Command Headquarters. Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, Commander Major General Aung Kyaw Hlaing, responsible officials, departmental officials, those who returned to the legal fold, and their parents or guardians attended. Subsequently, those who returned to the legal fold handed over 2 MA-1 assault rifles, 1 MA-2 assault rifle, 2 BA-63 assault rifles, 5 Type-81 rifles, 1 M-22 assault rifle, 1 LM-16 light machine gun, 1 AK-47 assault rifle, totaling 13 assorted firearms, 6 Chinese wire-hook grenades, 456 rounds of assorted ammunition, and 20 magazines. The Commander received these items. Following this, the Region Chief Minister and the Commander presented rewards to those who returned to the legal fold with weapons and ammunition. They were given 500,000 kyats per firearm for the 13 firearms, totaling 6,500,000 kyats, 1,800,000 kyats for the 6 grenades, and 300,000 kyats per individual for the 32 returnees, totaling 9,600,000 kyats. In total, 76,400,000 kyats were awarded by the Region Chief Minister and the Commander. They then had the returnees sign pledge forms and handed them over to their parents or guardians. Efforts are underway to welcome and provide necessary support to those who have returned to the legal fold and hand them over to their parents or guardians. It is known that there are still individuals who wish to return to the legal fold. Those who wish to return to the legal fold are urged to quickly contact their nearest military posts or police stations to provide information. They will be welcomed, provided with necessary assistance, and will receive rewards for their weapons and ammunition.
