The clearing of weeds and overgrowth around the "Nabayasukha" pagoda, situated on a mountain near Kunchankway on the Asia New Road, Myawaddy-Donam Mountain Pass, was carried out on September 6th. It is understood that renovation work will be undertaken, and the pagoda's Hti (umbrella) crown will be donated. Under the guidance of U Saw Mutsone, Chairman of the Karen State Religious Philanthropy Association, Major Saw Htoo and soldiers from BGF Battalion (4) - Division, carried out the cleaning of garbage and algae from the pagoda's surroundings and terrace this morning, concerning the "Nabayasukha" pagoda located on a hill near Kunchankway on the new Asia Road, Myawaddy-Kawkareik Donam Mountain Pass. It is known that U Saw Mutsone, Chairman of the Karen State Religious Philanthropy Association, donated to the Sayadaw of Ngay Hinsa Monastery as a birthday commemoration to be able to donate the Hti (umbrella) crown to the pagoda. Following this, Myawaddy District Administrator U Ye Lin Maung, Township Administrator U Zaw Myo Aung, Township Municipal Deputy Director U Kyaw Kyaw Oo, construction engineers, Major Saw Htoo from BGF Battalion (4), and local elder U Than Shwe, along with other responsible officials, observed the cleaning work on the pagoda's terrace and stated that they will coordinate efforts for the donation of the Hti (umbrella) crown to the "Nabayasukha" pagoda and for the pagoda's renovation and refurbishment. The "Nabayasukha" pagoda was built under the leadership of senior monks to pacify all dangers, as numerous lives were lost due to cars carrying repatriated Myanmar workers falling into ravines and frequent vehicle rollovers on the downhill section of the Asia New Road near Myawaddy-Donam Mountain Pass. Travelers from near and far visiting Myawaddy town will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Donam mountain range and pay homage to the pagoda.
