Mr. Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, held a meeting with representatives of major economic groups in New York, USA. This meeting was part of his trip to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly's general debate and conduct bilateral activities. During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on expanding investment in Vietnam and strengthening economic cooperation. General Secretary and President Tô Lâm emphasized that Vietnam welcomes domestic and foreign investment and is focusing on creating an environment to promote economic growth. In particular, the potential for cooperation in fields such as high-tech industries, renewable energy, and infrastructure development is believed to have been discussed. Vietnam has achieved remarkable economic growth under its one-party system and has been actively attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in recent years. Particularly, against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions with China, Vietnam has become an attractive investment destination for companies seeking to diversify their supply chains. This dialogue with the US business community is presumed to aim at further accelerating this trend. (Supplementary Information) While Vietnam's economic growth is remarkable, it also faces challenges for sustainable development, including domestic infrastructure development, human resource training, and environmental issue responses. Furthermore, its economic policies under the one-party system attract attention from the international community, with expectations for progress in transparency and legal frameworks.
