Thai Social Security Office Urges Public to Verify Polling Stations for Board Election; Pre-registration Now Unnecessary

The Social Security Office has announced that pre-registration is no longer required for the upcoming Social Security Board election scheduled for September 27. The office is strongly urging voters to verify their designated polling stations in advance, as voting will only be permitted at the assigned locations. The election will take place on Sunday, September 27, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. While no prior registration is necessary, it is crucial for voters to confirm their exact polling station. Voting outside the designated unit may result in the inability to cast a ballot. Polling station information can be checked through the Social Security Office's website, the e-Self Service system, or the SSO Plus application. These platforms provide both the polling station location and navigation maps. The voter lists are segregated by each polling station, meaning individuals must vote at their assigned unit. If a voter mistakenly goes to the wrong station, officials will verify their details, and if their name is found at a different location, they will be directed to their correct polling station. For those who did not pre-register their preferred voting location, the system will automatically assign a station based on existing data. For Article 33 insured persons (employees) and employers, the assignment will be based on the province and district where the business establishment is located. For Article 39 (self-employed) and Article 40 (voluntary insured) contributors, the assignment will be based on the province and district of their registered address with the Social Security Office. Eligibility requirements include Thai nationality and continuous insured or employer status for at least six months between November 2025 and April 2026, with at least three months of contribution payments within that six-month period. On election day, essential identification documents include a national ID card or any government-issued identification card with a photograph and national ID number. Digitally accepted government-issued identification is also valid. Individuals who have legally changed their name or surname must present documentation of the change if their name on the voter list remains the original. Corporate employers must provide a company registration certificate not older than six months and a letter of authorization as applicable. If voters cannot find their information after checking, they should verify their national ID number, name, and date of birth against their records. If the information is still not found, they are advised to contact the Social Security Office's hotline at 1506. With only a few days remaining until the election, voters are encouraged to confirm their polling station, prepare their documents, and exercise their right to vote on September 27 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
