Cambodian Foreign Minister to Address UN General Assembly on 'Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation'

AKP Phnom Penh, September 21, 2026 — H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York. According to a press release issued on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UNGA81 will be held from Sept. 22 to 28, 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters, under the theme: "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All". During the General Debate, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister will deliver Cambodia's national statement, outlining Cambodia's perspectives on key regional and global issues, underscoring the enduring importance of multilateralism, and highlight the need to further strengthen the role, effectiveness, and relevance of the United Nations system in addressing the complex and evolving challenges facing the international community. He will also highlight Cambodia's development priorities and strategies, as well as its continued commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive development. On the sidelines of the General Debate, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings to exchange views on further strengthening bilateral relations and advancing Cambodia's contributions to international peace and security, and sustainable development.
