TACLOBAN CITY — A police officer surrendered to authorities after allegedly shooting to death a barangay councilor in Palapag, Northern Samar, on Friday afternoon, Sept. 18. The victim, a 50-year-old resident of Barangay Mapno, was found behind a waiting shed across the barangay auditorium after the shooting at 2:53 p.m. Police identified the suspect as the officer, who later turned himself in. The motive behind the incident is currently under investigation.
