Filipino Seafarer's Remains Still in Somalia After 8 Years
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs has pledged to send fresh instructions to its embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, to press Somali authorities for the repatriation of the remains of Sam Dela Cruz, a 25-year-old Filipino seafarer who died in Somalia in 2018. Eight years later, no official response has been received from Somali authorities, and the seafarer's remains have yet to return home.
