Budget revenue exceeded 11.8 billion kip, accounting for 55 percent of the annual target, while exports, including cement, cassava, and livestock, were valued at over US$74.4 million. Authorities also reported significant progress in infrastructure and public services. All-weather road access now reaches 99 percent of the district, telecommunications coverage stands at 95 percent, and all villages have achieved model health village status. Phanam Subdistrict, recently established on April 24, 2026, comprises 25 villages and has completed its initial deployment of personnel and administrative resources. Addressing local officials, Prime Minister Sonexay emphasized the need for stronger political and ideological education and effective implementation of Party and government policies. He called for continued institutional strengthening to improve public service delivery. He urged authorities to implement the 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026–2030) and Resolution No. 04/CC, focusing on building a self-reliant and independent economy. This includes promoting commercial agricultural production, expanding investment, simplifying administrative procedures, and removing bottlenecks, particularly in documentation and approvals. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of intensifying efforts against drug trafficking, theft, fraud, and cybercrime through enhanced law enforcement and public awareness campaigns. He called on district leaders to lead by example, uphold accountability, and strictly comply with Party discipline and state regulations. At the conclusion of his visit, Prime Minister Sonexay provided financial assistance to support Mahaxay District's development priorities and donated essential consumer goods to help improve the livelihoods of local residents.
