Indonesian Badminton Association Fully Supports BWF Investigation into Player Integrity Allegations

The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has declared its full support for the independent investigation proceedings conducted by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) regarding alleged integrity violations involving several Indonesian players. In an official release shared on Monday (3/8) night WIB, PBSI affirmed its respect for the ongoing process. The association stated that it respects the independent judicial proceedings currently being undertaken by the BWF and fully supports the mechanism implemented as part of efforts to maintain the integrity of badminton. "PP PBSI is aware that the BWF is currently undertaking independent judicial proceedings related to alleged integrity violations involving several Indonesian players. PP PBSI respects and fully supports the mechanism implemented by the BWF as part of efforts to maintain the integrity of badminton and respects the independence of the ongoing process," read the official PBSI statement. "In accordance with the provisions applicable in the process, PP PBSI will not provide further comments regarding the substance of the case or link the ongoing process with specific athletes. We invite all stakeholders, including the media and the public, to respect the ongoing process and avoid speculation until there is an official decision from the Independent Hearing Panel of the BWF." The PBSI also assured its commitment to adhering to regulations and upholding its pledge to maintain integrity. Coordination with the BWF will continue. "PP PBSI will continue to coordinate with the BWF and ensure that every organizational step is implemented in accordance with the principles of good governance, compliance with regulations, protection of athletes' rights, and commitment to the integrity of badminton," PBSI wrote in its statement. Separately from the alleged integrity violations, PBSI has made adjustments to the composition of Indonesia's representatives in the mixed doubles sector for the BWF World Championships 2026. The mixed doubles pairs Jafar Hidayatullah//Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil will not participate in the BWF World Championships 2026. This decision is part of the organization's measures to ensure that all administrative processes and athlete participation in international championships proceed in accordance with applicable regulations and mechanisms.
