Myanmar nationals traveling to Nepal urged to be cautious when carrying personal belongings

The Myanmar Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal, has issued a notice urging Myanmar nationals traveling to the Kingdom of Nepal to be cautious and exercise discretion when carrying personal belongings. It is reported that a series of incidents have occurred where some Myanmar nationals visiting the Kingdom of Nepal for various reasons have been arrested at the airport on charges of drug trafficking. According to the notice from the Myanmar Embassy in Kathmandu, among the Myanmar nationals who visit the Kingdom of Nepal for various reasons such as tourism, carrying and transporting goods, and seeking employment, via Thailand's Bangkok and other countries, it has been discovered through inspections that illegal items and drugs are being carried in personal belongings that have been intentionally or unintentionally handed over by unscrupulous individuals. Therefore, the Myanmar Embassy in Kathmandu has issued a notice and call to action urging Myanmar nationals traveling to the Kingdom of Nepal to be cautious and travel prudently to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
