Vietnamese President Addresses UN General Assembly, Advocates for Enhanced International Cooperation

Vietnamese President Tô Lâm attended the high-level general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, which officially opened on September 22 at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. The session is themed "Restoring Trust, Building Transformation: A United Nations for All People." President Tô Lâm presented Vietnam's stance and conveyed a message advocating for strengthened international cooperation. Prior to the general debate, President Tô Lâm held bilateral meetings with several key figures, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Acting U.S. Secretary of the Navy Hùng Cao. These engagements highlight Vietnam's emphasis on bilateral relations with major powers and its pursuit of diversified diplomacy. A meeting with the leadership of the Communist Party of the USA was also reported, indicating the Vietnamese Communist Party's international outreach efforts. Vietnam, while maintaining its socialist one-party system, has pursued market-oriented reforms (Doi Moi policy), achieving remarkable economic growth in recent years.
