Vietnam-Algeria Relations: Ambassador Pledges Deeper Friendship and Cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria paid a courtesy call on Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN). During the meeting, Benmbarek affirmed the FLN's commitment to further strengthening friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two parties, based on the cooperation agreement signed last year. He emphasized that this enhanced cooperation would significantly promote relations between the two countries and peoples. This engagement occurs amidst efforts by both Vietnam and Algeria to deepen economic ties. Discussions have previously highlighted the untapped potential for Vietnamese agricultural exports to Algeria and the strengthening of trade links and exploration of broader investment cooperation between businesses of the two nations. For Vietnam, a socialist republic with a one-party system, reinforcing party-to-party and governmental ties with friendly nations like Algeria is a key aspect of its foreign policy. This strategy aims to stabilize Vietnam's international standing and support its economic growth, particularly through fostering "South-South cooperation" with African nations.
