AKP Guangdong (China), September 4, 2026 -- A joint Cambodian delegation comprising officials from the Ministry of Information, private media institutions, and scholars has conducted a study tour of key areas in Guangdong Province, the People’s Republic of China, from Sept. 3 to 4. The visit provided the delegation with insights into industrial innovation, modern logistics, advanced manufacturing, and urban transformation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Led by H.E. Prak Thaveak Amida, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, the Cambodian delegation, together with representatives from other countries, visited key manufacturing and commercial centres, including Guangzhou and Foshan. During the tour, the delegation inspected high-tech infrastructure, advanced manufacturing facilities, and modern automated logistics and transport hubs, including Guangzhou's Nansha Port. The visits demonstrated how smart technologies, green energy, and integrated supply chains have contributed to regional economic development and transformation, reflecting China’s achievements through decades of reform and opening-up. The study tour also included the delegation's participation in the Asia-Pacific Media Forum Guangzhou Sub-Forum on Sept. 3. During the event, Cambodian delegates exchanged views with media professionals and experts from across the region on media transformation, digital newsroom operations, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in news gathering and distribution. Scholars and media executives noted that Guangdong's advanced technology and logistics ecosystems could provide useful reference and experience for Cambodia's ongoing industrial modernisation and economic development under the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1. The visit is in the run-up to the main Asia-Pacific Media Forum, scheduled to take place in Shenzhen on Sept. 5. Held under the theme of fostering regional consensus and shared prosperity, the forum will bring together media leaders, policymakers, scholars, and think tank experts from across the Asia-Pacific region to promote cross-border media cooperation, technological exchange, and mutual understanding.
