Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur Completes New Building, Accommodating 800 Students

PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has announced the completion of the construction and development of the Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) in Malaysia. This new facility is set to support the educational activities of Indonesian citizens (WNI) residing in Malaysia. The official utilization of the new building was marked by the first flag ceremony held on Tuesday, September 1, led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Raden Dato' Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo. The SIKL new building, part of the Indonesian Embassy's Education and Culture Center Building in Kuala Lumpur, commenced construction in May 2025 and was completed in May 2026. The facility spans a total building area of approximately 5,600 square meters, with the tallest building reaching four floors and one basement. It includes classrooms from kindergarten to high school levels, laboratories, teacher rooms, administrative and business management rooms, a food hall, a hall, a sports hall, a prayer room, and basement parking. With the new facilities, SIKL is now capable of accommodating up to 800 students. This capacity is expected to expand educational access for Indonesian children, including those of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) living and working in Malaysia. Dian Sovana, Corporate Secretary of Brantas Abipraya, stated that the completion of the SIKL construction is more than just a physical construction project; it represents the company's contribution to improving the quality of Indonesian human resources. "For Brantas Abipraya, the construction of SIKL is not just about completing a construction project. Behind every classroom and facility that we build, there is hope that Indonesian children in Malaysia can obtain a decent, comfortable learning space, and support them to develop and achieve their dreams," Dian said in an official statement on Wednesday, September 2. She further emphasized that the existence of SIKL holds strategic significance, as education is a crucial instrument in maintaining the sustainability of the quality of the Indonesian generation, including those living abroad. Brantas Abipraya reiterated its commitment to continue contributing to infrastructure development that provides social added value and long-term benefits to the community. As a state-owned construction enterprise, Brantas Abipraya aims not only for physical development but also to present works that meet community needs and support the national development agenda. The Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia also highlighted the importance of SIKL in providing educational services for the Indonesian community in Malaysia, expressing hope that the new facility will energize students and support the progress of basic education.
