The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, in line with the high directives of Prime Minister Hun Manet, is urging former Cambodian workers who have returned from Thailand and citizens seeking employment domestically to register. The ministry stated that there are currently over 90,000 job openings nationwide, aiming to provide suitable employment opportunities. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, urged on the evening of July 1st, that former workers and citizens seeking jobs should contact the hotline 1297 to quickly secure employment opportunities. He emphasized that the approximately 90,000 job openings in Cambodia, particularly in the industrial sector, are available to citizens who are fit for work, regardless of their experience. "We have opportunities for citizens who are fit for work, whether they have experience or not. Therefore, our Cambodian brothers and sisters or workers who want jobs, please contact phone number 1297 to get a job immediately," he added. Concurrently, the Ministry of Labour spokesperson reminded Cambodian citizens to avoid the risks of illegally crossing the border to work in Thailand, as tensions continue along the border between the two countries. He highlighted the risks of illegal migration, such as exploitation by employers, non-compliance with legal benefits, or crackdowns by authorities in the host country leading to arrests. According to Sun Mesa, the Ministry of Labour will continue to implement the government's directives, giving high priority to facilitating and creating convenience for all Cambodian workers to obtain decent employment, earn income, and contribute to improving family livelihoods and national economic development.
