Vietnam Aims to Localize Production of Critical 500kV Grid Equipment

Vietnam is targeting the domestic production of "shunt reactors" for its 500kV power grid, currently 100% imported. The East Hanoi Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC) has launched a national science and technology project with the goal of producing a prototype within 24 months, aiming to enhance national energy security and economic independence.
