Pattaya Beach Undergoing Restoration After Heavy Rain Causes Erosion and Debris Wash-up

PATTAYA, Thailand – Heavy rain throughout the night sent large volumes of water from Pattaya’s urban areas toward the sea, affecting sections of Pattaya Beach through erosion and strong runoff that carried sand, rubbish and debris onto the shoreline. On September 24, Pattaya City ordered the Rural Roads Division and Infrastructure Development Section of the Pattaya City Engineering Department to deploy crews and equipment to the affected areas. Workers leveled and redistributed sand to restore sections of the beach affected by the powerful runoff, while crews simultaneously collected rubbish, waste and other debris washed down from nearby communities. The cleanup covered both the beach and the immediate coastal area, with workers focusing on restoring the shoreline and improving its appearance following the overnight rainfall. Pattaya City said it was continuing to monitor the situation closely and accelerating recovery work following the heavy rain, with the aim of returning the beach to normal conditions for residents and tourists as quickly as possible.
