Thai King and Queen on State Visit to Vietnam

The King and Queen of Thailand are paying a state visit to Vietnam from September 14 to 16. This visit is a continuation of the friendship and close ties between the two nations, holding not only political significance but also serving as an opportunity to deepen the bonds between the Thai Royal Family, Government and people, and the Vietnamese Government and people. General Secretary and President Lam affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to its friendly neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation with Thailand, expressing his hope that the two nations will continue to work together, support each other's development, and contribute to regional peace, stability, and growth. It was emphasized that the two countries share many similarities in history, culture, and social life, and have favorable conditions for strengthening exchanges and sharing experiences. Both sides stressed that the close bonds between the two peoples are an important foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnam–Thailand cooperation. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung stated that this visit is an important event long anticipated and prepared by both sides, contributing to consolidating and deepening Vietnam-Thailand friendship and cooperation, particularly after the two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The visit takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. This state visit by the Thai King and Queen to Vietnam demonstrates Vietnam's emphasis on its relationships with regional countries and its commitment to contributing to regional peace, stability, and economic growth through friendship and cooperation.
