Vietnamese, Myanmar Leaders' Spouses Visit Van Phuc Silk Village

On the morning of September 5, Ngo Phuong Ly, the spouse of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, and Kyu Kyu Hla, the spouse of Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing, visited Van Phuc Silk Village in Hanoi. The visit aimed to deepen cultural exchange between the spouses of leaders from both nations and to observe the current state of Van Phuc Village, known for its traditional silk production, a significant cultural heritage of Vietnam. Van Phuc Village has a long-standing reputation for high-quality silk weaving and is a key area for Vietnam's cultural heritage. In recent years, it has also become a hub for industrial tourism, attracting visitors from home and abroad through the integration of traditional techniques with modern designs. This visit is understood to be part of Vietnam's diplomatic efforts within its one-party system to maintain and strengthen friendly relations. The revitalization of the local economy and the promotion of traditional industries are among the policy priorities for the Vietnamese government, and such visits can signify interest in these initiatives.
