Military junta calls its operation in Rakhine State as 'Yan Naing Aung'

Although supporters of the Myanmar military junta are propagandizing that they are conducting the "4926 Operation" in Rakhine State, it has been revealed by sources close to the military headquarters that the actual military operation is named "Yan Naing Aung Operation". Regarding the name "Yan Naing Aung Operation," former soldier Zin Yaw, who participated in the CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement), said that the name refers to past military successes in the Rakhine region. "They are engaging in imaginary propaganda in Rakhine, calling it the '4926 Operation.' In reality, the operation name of the Northern Military Command is 'Yan Naing Aung.' Despite deploying all land, sea, and air forces, they have not achieved success even once," an internal military source told the Ayeyarwaddy Times. It is known that the military tends to conduct psychological warfare by using various operation names such as the Bandula Operation and the Badonmin Operation to conceal its defeats in Rakhine. "No matter how many times the operation names are changed and announced, each time a new operation name is released, the military's divisions and units are depleted of their forces, and nothing remains," the source continued. Furthermore, innocent civilians are being harmed due to excessive aerial and maritime attacks. On September 7th, the military attacked the towns of Thantse and Gwe by sea and the town of Ponnagyun by air, resulting in injuries to local residents.
