Vietnam Esports Aims for 3 Medals at Asian Games

The Vietnamese national esports team will compete in 4 out of the 11 total esports events at the Asian Games (ASIAD 20), held in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan. The team, comprising 23 athletes and 6 coaches, has set a target of winning at least 3 medals, specifically aiming for 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. To achieve this goal, the Vietnamese esports community emphasizes gaining experience in international competitions, and this participation is expected to contribute to the development of domestic esports and enhance its international recognition. Esports has rapidly gained popularity in Vietnam in recent years, with a passionate fanbase, particularly among the youth. The government also views esports as a new growth industry and is focusing on its development. VNGGames has received the title of "Excellent Game Publisher" for four consecutive years and has made significant contributions to the Vietnamese esports scene. The company has also been active in social contribution activities, such as donating 7 billion Vietnamese Dong to support flood-affected areas in the north in the past.
