Authorities in Cambodia's Mondulkiri province have cracked down on two illegal gold mining sites. This operation was led by the Deputy Provincial Police Commissioner for Arms, Explosives, and Fire Control, in cooperation with the provincial Department of Mines and Energy. The crackdown, which took place on July 29th, targeted two locations in Pu Tong village, Chonh Plas commune, Keo Seima district. Upon arrival at the sites, the task force found no individuals engaged in the illegal activities but did seize various equipment believed to be used for gold extraction. The confiscated items include seven sacks of ore, one gasoline-powered water pump, two shovels, a rock drill set, a set of air hoses, one air compressor, one mining drill, one ore crushing machine, one gold panning equipment set, a pair of gold panning stands, one three-phase generator set, two motors for crushing and drilling machines, and a 20-meter-long three-phase power cable.
